Rock Music gets me High

Rock music has always been seen as the "bad boy" in music. Not a lot of people understand and appreciate Rock music. To begin with, how do we even define Rock Music?
The BEATLES was and still is considered Rock and Roll, Madonna has just been inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and so are the Rolling Stones, the Ramones and Elvis Presley.
You listen to their types of Music and you don't see much similarities except that they've contributed a lot to the type of Music we listen to now.
But I'm talking about Rock as in Incubus or Garbage or Red Hot Chilli Peppers type of Rock.
Their music, when I listen to them, gets me high. This kind of Rock music makes me shut down my surrounding environment and just enjoy the music.
Don't get me wrong I'm not a hard rockin' chic. I only like "profound, eloquent rock" ... if there is such a thing. The bands I enumerated above are perfect examples.
I listen to almost any type of Music from Classical to Hard Rock (well rarely Metal). The difference of Rock Music from any other type of music I listen to is that it literally makes me concentrate on the Music and gives me the feeling of freedom or just plain release.
Ironically this is the type of Music that de-stresses me. I put on one of their CDs and I'm in a sort of trance for the next 30 minutes to an hour just listening and rockin' to the music. Don't care what the world does for those minutes. Don't care what I was feeling before I pushed play. Just the good sync of the drums, bass and of course the guitars.
With other types of Music, I enjoy them by singing to them or dancing to them. I enjoy other music, but they don't relax me the way Rock does. Funny, but it's true.
I remember on weekends after a tiring week of finals in college, I wake up and play good Rock music and just lie down my bed, close my eyes, sing to it if I can or want to and just release all the stress that I've accummulated since.
Rock Music gets me high this way.
