Has it been that long?!

My cousin/bestfriend came home after almost four years in the US. She's here for a 3 week visit, but apart from the fact that she came here mostly for her family who missed her the most, she also came home with her new husband who's also visiting her family. So in reality, the 3 weeks she's here will be hardly felt.
We were born 2 weeks apart and have always been together on anything! We have another cousin in the "gang" who was born about 6 months later and the three of us were inseparable when we were young.
We won't go to family outings if one or both can't join us. We'd rather stay home if neither's going to be in that family gathering or whatever party. We used to wear the same types of clothes (well except for the youngest who's a guy
). When we got a bit older, my parents would always allow me to parties if I'm going with the guy cousin/bestfriend. I met my first boyfriend through him, and she went to the same college as him while we all knew each one's group of friends in school.Those were the days. then we all went to college and we'd only see each other once in 2 months, sometimes even longer. We had our own boyfriends (or girlfriend) and we had different priorities. Soon we all graduated college and had to go to work.
She had to go to the US since her green card petition has just been approved. She had to try life there while me and my guy cousin stayed here and worked. I got married and had a kid. She went home for my wedding and until I gave birth and had my son's christening where they were both godparents, and then she stayed in the US until now.
It's been a long time, but has it been that long?! She's married now too. She was going to have a baby, but the little angel died when she was about to give birth (is that technically a miscarriage??) about a year ago.
We just finished talking on the phone and I can't believe it's been that long! We talked like we were just together yesterday. The only difference is that now, there's a little tyke barging in on the conversation every now and then.
I genuinely missed these girl talks with my cousin and bestfriend. Things haven't changed -- much.
It hasn't been that long... and it feels so great to talk to each other again!
